Youth Fitness

There are numerous benefits to exercise for children and youth.  At CanadaPhysio, we believe that good fitness habits are important to cultivate at a very young age.  Our Youth Fitness Program welcomes children ages 5-17.

The Youth Fitness Program consists of four main areas of daily health habits that will encourage the Youth to adopt healthy lifestyle habits that will last a lifetime!

The Youth Fitness Program promotes a healthy 24-hour regimen that will encourage Youth to:

Sweat: Kids need at least 60 minutes of daily vigorous physical activity.

Step:  Kids need to be active throughout the day and should be encouraged to participate in physical activities like walking to school and climbing stairs whenever possible.

Sleep: 5-13-year-olds should be getting 9-11 hours of sleep every night. Once your child turns 14, his/her sleep time can be reduced to 8-10 hours. Getting enough sleep is important for a developing body because it promotes growth, boosts learning and impacts on the ability to maintain a healthy weight.

Sit: Limiting the time that Youth spend sitting down is crucial. Our Youth already spend a lot of time sitting at school. It is important to limit the time they spend sitting at home. Video games, TV and time spent with other electronic devices may keep them occupied and entertained and may even teach them quite a lot however, when Youth spend extended periods of time without adequate physical activity, it only serves to set the stage for health and weight issues in the future.

CanadaPhysio clinics create specialized fitness programs suitable for Youth and their developing musculature.  Our safe and nurturing environment encourages the development of healthy exercise routines and our enthusiastic staff shares their love of fitness, inspire and encourage our Youth participants to pursue these ideals!
