Ultrasound Therapy

Ultrasound therapy involves the use of sound frequencies that are above the range of human hearing.

This type of therapy is used to stimulate the body tissue with sound waves which promotes the healing in the soft tissue that is found in tendon, joint, ligament and muscle.

Ultrasound waves penetrate the injured soft tissue and cause a deep heating of the tissue which serves to increase circulation and accelerate the healing process.  Ultrasound Therapy provides heat to muscle tissue which helps with pain relief and will decrease stiffness and improve flexibility.

Ultrasound Therapy is beneficial in the treatment of a number of conditions including muscle tears and strains, tendonitis,  joint tightness, ligament injuries and frozen shoulders to name but a few.  Therapeutic benefits can be maximized when combining Ultrasound therapy with other forms of treatment like Massage Therapy, Acupuncture and an effective exercise program developed by your therapist to address your specific injury.

Ultrasound therapy is painless with patients sometimes reporting slight tingling and warmth to the affected area.
